Hapoel Soccer returned last weekend after a four-week break due to the holidays and the kids wound up playing in rather ugly weather thanks to the recent rains. But they got plenty of soccer in.

On the boys' side, in the sixth-grade (and older) division, the Purple and Red teams came away with victories.

The Purple team topped the Red, 4-2. Isaac Gould scored twice while Binyamin Edelstein (one goal, one assist) and Yehuda Edelstein (one goal) also helped the winners. Yaakov Fink added an assist.

Yellow also showed some offense, rolling to a 4-1 victory over the Green team. Avram Warshawsky led the way with two goals. Gil Melkin and Ben Shemony each added a goal and an assist. Tani Makovsky helped with two assists.

Evan Goldman got the Green goal, and Yonatan Abrams added an assist.

The fourth-fifth grade division saw the Yellow, Green and Silver teams come away with victories.

Purple and Silver battled to a 1-1 tie. Samuel Kushnir scored the Purple goal while Yoni Snow got Silver's tally.

There was a little more offense in the kindergarten-first grade division. The Silver team rolled to an 8-3 rout of Purple thanks to the work of Saadya Levitt (four goals) and Ari Siegel (three goals).

Yisrael Starkman and Koby Goldschlag each scored once in the victory. Isaac Kushnir led Purple with two goals, and Shai Margulies got the other.

Jeremy Ullman put on a real show in Green's 9-0 victory over Red. He posted seven goals and two assists. Joey Sussman and Benjamin Coplin added a goal apiece. Micah Israel and Benjy Sussman each contributed two assists.

The Yellow-Blue game however, wasn't an offensive show. Benjamin Zatman's goal gave Blue a 1-0 victory.

Over on the girls' side, Eliana Tuchman's two goals helped the Red team to a 3-0 victory over Green in the sixth grade (and older) division. Gabriella Eisenstadt and Daniella Eisenstadt both got assists in the game.

The other game saw Purple and Yellow play to a scoreless tie.

The third-fifth grade division saw the Purple and Red teams also get plenty of offense in their own victories. The Purple team got one goal from four different players in a 4-2 victory over Yellow.

Sharona Guggenheim, Rebecca Levine, Ilana Winter and Sarah Warshawsky each scored once. Elyana Schwartz scored for the Yellow team.

Red came away with a 7-0 shutout of Green. Adielle Tuchman's hat trick led the way. Rachel Chittum and Aliza Kotz each scored once.
