Hapoel soccer on holiday hiatus

The Hapoel Soccer league will have an unusual schedule this fall because of the holidays. The teams played their first two weeks and will now take a break for the next four Sundays.

In Week 2, the Purple and Yellow teams won in the boys' sixth-grade-plus division. Purple scored a 4-2 victory over Red thanks to a two-goal performance from Isaac Gould. Binyamin Edelstein added a goal and an assist while Yehuda Edelstein scored once. Yaakov Fink also got an assist.

Nadiv Panitch scored a goal for the Red team.

The Yellow team beat Green, 4-1. Avram Warshawsky scored two goals. Gil Melkin and Ben Shemony each helped with a goal and an assist. Tani Makovsky had two assists.

Evan Goldman scored the only Green goal. Yonatan Abrams got an assist.

The fourth-fifth-grade division saw the Red team have a big day on offense in a 9-2 rout of Yellow.

Eli Shemtov led the way with six goals and two assists. Binyamin Broth helped with one goal and two assists. Moshe McNally and Jacob Glassman both scored once. Mory Gould added an assist.

Ron Heifetz led Yellow with one goal and one assist. Ari Sporkin scored once, and Daniel Goldman got an assist.

Perry Ross scored two goals in Green's 5-2 victory over Purple. Ethan Josovitz, Mikhael Hammer and Shimon Idstein each got a goal.

Ezra Osofsky and Reuben Winston both scored goals for Purple in the loss.

Aaron Weiss and Sam Weisman each got a goal in the Silver's 2-0 victory over Blue. Sammy Merzel added an assist.

There was also plenty of offense in the second-third grade division. After scoring 11 goals last week, the Red team was still on the offenivee this week. They rolled to a 7-0 victory over Purple.

Dani Offer's hat trick led the way. Yoni Eisen added two goals while Ezra Diament and Benji Wilbur both scored once.

Justin Galitzer's four goals and one assist helped Yellow to a 5-4 victory over Silver. Samuel Glick got the other goal.

Yoni Snow led Silver with two goals. Daniel Chodorow (one goal, one assist), Meir Schwartz (one goal), Moshe Gottlieb (one assist) and Oren Eisenstadt (one assist) also pitched in.

The Green team had little trouble in a 7-0 rout of Blue. Eli Soumekhian sparked them with three goals and one assist. Sammy Levitt added a goal and an assist. Naftali Lipman, Benjamin Riffkin and Gavriel Yaakov Bernstein each scored once. Ezra Dayanim added an assist.

Joseph Vogel's five-goal effort gave the Red an 8-3 victory over Purple. Binyamin Hadar added two, and Joseph Kaplan got one. Isaac Kushnir got a Purple hat trick.

Yellow and Silver played to a 1-1 draw. Yaakov Robinson scored the Yellow goal, and Saadya Levitt got the goal for Silver. Jamie Margulies added an assist for Yellow.

Jeremy Ullman took care of everything in Green's 4-0 victory over Blue. Ullman scored all four goals in the shutout

There also was plenty of offense in the girls games, starting with the sixth-grade-plus division where Red and Yellow each had little trouble winning.

Eliana Tuchman finished with three goals and one assist in Red's 5-0 victory over Purple. Daniella Eisenstadt and Sarit Eisen also scored a goal. Yardena Sultan-Reisler and Adina Israel both added assists.

Aviva Lombardo's two-goal, one-assist effort paved the way in Yellow's 6-2 victory over Green. Shoshana Kott, Ashira Rosen, Shoshana Garfield and Hadassah Solomson each scored a goal.

Emma Hofman scored both Green goals.

Purple and Yellow were the victors in the third-fifth-grade division games. The Purple team had an easier time in its 4-0 decision over Red. Rebecca Levine topped the team with two goals.

Ilana Winter added a goal and an assist. Shana Lowenstein also scored a goal while Moriyah Agassi got an assist.

Rena Milgraum and Ilana Jach got assists in Yellow's 2-1 victory over Green. Nesiah Ely scored the Green goal.

In the kindergarten-second-grade division, Purple/Red scored a 1-0 forfeit victory over Yellow/Green.
