Hapoel Season Winds Down

The Hapoel Soccer league's season is headed toward the finish line now, with championship games being set up in each division for both boys and girls.

The Yellow, Silver and Red teams each won in the boys kindergarten-first grade league while Blue and Green played to a scoreless tie. Jake Ely's four-goal performance sparked Yellow to a 5-1 victory over Royal. Lucas Kaplan got the other goal. Avi Majeski scored the Royal goal.

Samuel Kushnir scored four times to help Silver to a 7-3 win over Forest. Oren Eisenstadt added two goals and an assist. Yoni Snow got the other goal.

Elior Waskow took care of the Forest offense with all three of its goals.

Justin Galitzer scored the game's only goal in Red's 1-0 victory over Purple. The Red and Blue teams will meet in this week's title game.

In second-third grade action, the Silver, Yellow, Green and Red teams each posted victories. Danny Zweben got three goals and one assist while Nadav Anolik added a goal and an assist to help Silver to a 4-0 victory over Forest.

Jordan Teitelbaum tallied two goals, and Perry Ross added one more to give Yellow a 3-0 shutout of Royal.

Coby Melkin got two goals and one assist, and Daryl Nadler added one goal as Green pulled out a 3-1 victory over Blue. Eliezer Shemtov scored for Blue in the losing cause.

Elijah Zack's hat trick helped Red to a 3-2 win over Purple. Joshua Straus gave Purple both of its goals.

The Silver and Green teams will meet in the finals.

The Red and Blue are going to battle in the fourth-fifth-grade championship game and both scored easy victories last weekend.Akiva Chefitz led with two goals while Jacob Myers had one goal and two assists in a 5-0 rout of Purple. David Carton and Daniel Ginsburg each scored one goal in the win.

Tani Makovsky had one goal and one assist, and Yoni Broth scored once to give Green a 2-1 victory over Silver. Jamie Dekelbaum scored the Silver goal

Yehuda Edelstein scored two goals, and Binyamin Edelstein added one more to give Blue a 3-0 shutout of Yellow in their match-up.

In sixth- through eighth-grade action, Saadia Tuchman's four-goal effort led Purple to a 6-0 shutout of Yellow. Eli Bookstaber and Huda Mendlowitz each got a goal and an assist.

Evan Satinsky (four goals) and Noah Rosenfeld (three goals) combined to lead Green to a 9-0 rout of Red. Zvi Wallach and Danny Weiss both scored once.

Jon Galitzer and Jesse Zweben both scored twice to give Silver a 4-2 win over Blue in their game. Jason Kardon and Simmy Ruchelman helped Blue with a goal apiece.

The Green and Silver teams now play in the championship game.

On the girls side, Danielle Dekelbaum and Leah Winkler each scored once to give Silver a 2-0 victory over Blue in a kindergarten-first grade semifinal. They'll meet Purple in this week's final after their 6-0 rout of Yellow. Ella Gantman led the way with four goals while Hadara Bilsky and Adielle Tuchman each scored once.

Blue and Silver will play in the second-third grade championship game after semifinal wins last weekend. Eliana Elikan and Jennie Mellman both scored a goal for Blue in a 2-1 victory over Purple. Abigail Salamon got the lone Purple goal.

Aliza Kott led Silver to a 3-0 shutout of Yellow in the other semifinal. She had one goal and one assist while Rebecca Levine and Rina Torchinsky both scored once.

The fourth-fifth-grade division saw the Yellow and Purple teams both escape with 1-0 victories and advance to the championship game. Eliana Tuchman's overtime goal gave Yellow its victory over Silver while Shoshana Kott scored to give Purple a win over Blue.

The sixth- through eighth-grade division also will have a Purple-Yellow final game. Sara Miriam Sukol's goal gave Purple a 1-0 victory over Silver. Rivka Malka Swartz got a hat trick to give Yellow a 3-1 victory over Blue. Alexandra Engel scored the Blue goal.
