Kate Bush Hounds of Love

Yesterday I listened to the whole album, which is one of my 1980s faves. Today I am taking in the reissue with some bonus tracks.

Last fall I recorded the movie Night of the Demon (1957) and watched it while my then 4 month old was sleeping. One of the characters is communicating with some spirits and yells, "It's in the trees! It's coming!" and I immediately recognized that as the opening to the title song "Hounds of Love".

I loved Kate Bush. I had forgotten about that record.

So much good music lies dormant in the coffin of LaxPower, what a shame.
Many great posts, particularly by DMac, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Some should not lie unheard, particularly this one. Listen 100 times and it will be even better the 101st time.

I swear, sometimes you just miss stuff and disregard certain musicians. REO Speedwagon for instance. Then they step up and slap you in the face.

What a rocking cover of Little Queenie.

Kid Creole and the Coconuts:

Stool Pigeon

Don't Take My Coconuts

Lambada

Annie I'm Not Your Daddy

Que Pasa

Endicott

IIRC KC & C did not reach the Top 40. While these guys may not have made multiple millions in sales, their stage show was one of the best during the 1980s/90s.

"Stool Pigeon" was used as one of a zillion samples in the Avalanches' 2001 debut album Since I Left You on the song "Close To You" and it's literally my favorite moment on the album. This video shows all the samples from this one track.
